OSC seeks comment on 2023-2024 priorities

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is seeking feedback from stakeholders on its draft 2023-2024 Statement of Priorities (SoP) which will guide business planning for the fiscal year. The SoP sets out the strategic goals the OSC intends to focus its resources and actions on, as well as priority initiatives the OSC will pursue to support the strategic goals.

B.C.'s Burgess Shale and Alberta's Dinosaur Provincial Park were designated as international geological heritage sites by UNESCO and the International Union of Geological Sciences.

Tonga volcano eruption in January 'was biggest ever recorded'

A huge volcanic outburst near Tonga earlier this year was the biggest ever recorded using modern equipment, researchers have revealed.
On 15 January, Hunga Tonga–Hunga Ha'apai, a submarine volcano in the Tongan archipelago in the southern Pacific Ocean, violently erupted.
