Young women who received the HPV vaccine showed a lower degree of dysplasia, which may eventually lead to cervical cancer, reports a new study.
If a woman suffers from severe dysplasia, a tissue sample is taken. It can reveal precursor lesions to cervical cancer.
These researchers concluded ... the HPV vaccine works!
To be precise, the risk was reduced by 40 percent.

Patients with locally advanced cervical cancer had significantly increased disease-free survival (DFS) when treated with chemoradiation instead of neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by radical surgery, a large randomized trial published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology showed. The chemoradiation group had a median DFS rate of 76.7% compared with 69.3% for the patients assigned to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgery. Overall survival did not differ between treatment groups.
