If you've been thinking to yourself, "Self, how do I get more involved in ASJA?" We've got your answer: sign up to lead a Special Interest Group (SIG). SIGs are small (up to 12 people) private groups that meet on a special section of the forum to discuss a particular topic. Past SIGs have included six-figure freelancing, travel, content marketing, history writing, corporate writing and more. Future SIGs will include ... well, that's where you come in! SIG wrangler Jennifer Billock is open to your ideas. To be a good SIG leader, you need to be willing to dedicate time, lead and contribute to discussions, and share your own expertise. To get involved, email Jen.

You can get conference recordings or a free day’s admission to either the NYC or a regional conference. Even a coveted slot at a Virtual Client Connections session or Virtual Pitch Slam in 2019 can be yours.
The lucky winner of the Client Connections Recruitment Contest can choose from among these valuable prizes. And if you haven’t entered yet, don’t fear. It’s not too late!
Here’s how to do it: Take a look at your client contacts and identify any at publications, hospitals, nonprofits, universities, or content marketing agencies located in the greater New York City area. Consider whether any would be a good fit to attend Client Connections, the afternoon of one-on-one, nine-minute meetings to be held Monday, May 6, at the annual ASJA Conference in New York City.
If so, send an email to contest coordinator Cindy Kuzma with their names, titles and email addresses. She’ll send you an email template you can use to invite them to participate and add your name to a spreadsheet for tracking.
The member with the most clients who register by the deadline, April 16, wins! Contact Cindy with any questions.
