The other day I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, “Office Ladies.” If you’re a fan of “The Office,” and of wholesome middle-aged mom humor, you need to listen to this. In the May 18 episode, co-stars, podcast hosts, and real-life BFFs Jenna Fischer (Pam) and Angela Kinsey (Angela) talked about their new book (long title, Google it). They spent a lot of time delving into their writing process, both together and individually. For instance, Jenna (I’m pretending we’re on a first-name basis) maintains a ritual of reading and journaling before writing. They also talked about the revision process, finding their collaborative groove (they write at different times of day), and of course… writing snacks (Angela swears by a sweet/salty combo of salted peanuts and M&Ms, no, not peanut M&Ms, there’s no salt). I love the ladies’ weekly behind-the-scenes peek at making the TV show, and it was equally fun – as well as professionally interesting – going behind the scenes of making their book. Highly recommend. Cheers, Holly Leber Simmons, ASJA Weekly editor

Ukrainian press steadfast despite wartime challenges
Columbia Journalism Review
A NEW REPORT by the Media Development Foundation outlines how local news in Ukraine has operated since Russia invaded on February 24, 2022. Audio, the least stressful medium for news? Yes and no
journalism.co.uk
Cristina Puerta is a freelance journalist who works in online print - but has recently found herself reading less content and listening to more audio. Covering Brexit, the pandemic and other intense subjects brought about the change.
"Before I was listening just to music but since the pandemic I have developed an interest in podcasts which tackle a topic in-depth,” she says. "I'm usually the person who knows everything that is going on. Friends would continuously ask me to explain one thing or another in the news - but recently I have been answering 'no'.

5 tips to properly manage your time as a freelancer
Entrepreneur
If this pandemic has taught us anything, it is that technology has been a great contributor to keeping many businesses alive. Thousands of small companies went bankrupt, which caused millions of people to lose their jobs worldwide. However, some business owners learned and adapted to the "new normal" by translating part of their core operations to the digital world. And because of that, millions of workers had to start working from home.
