Religion weaves its way through almost every aspect of American society, but writing about faith can daunt some of the most courageous writers.

Can these communities gently nudge or forcefully push back on parachute journalism — dropping in only when headline-worthy — and have an impact on increasing the number of qualified applicants? Before they even get into the pipeline, can people be encouraged to continue to pursue this profession?

It’s happened to all of us. You see a great headline of an article on a blog or a website and you click on it, only to find a disappointing, superficial piece that lacks any substance. As a writer, this is your biggest nightmare. How can a well-written article that has been screened for errors and refined so many times end up lacking substance?

Digital Book World
From the invention of the moveable printing press in the 13th century, to the introduction of ebooks, in the mid-90s, there has never been a moment when the publishing industry has not been evolving to catch up to the way people select and purchase books. And yet for the longest time, the decision-making process throughout the industry has remained the same: editors and literary agents are tasked with selecting books based on their experience and knowledge of past market behavior, and gut feeling is relied upon to predict the world’s next bestsellers.
