MEMBER-EXCLUSIVE NEWS
Now that Thanksgiving is in the rearview mirror (leftover turkey for weeks notwithstanding), it’s officially holiday music time. I know, I know, some of you have been blasting Bing Crosby for weeks now. Despite my parents’ trepidation at their Jewish daughter’s love for all things Yuletide (but what do you expect when you name a kid Holly?), I adore Christmas music. My favorite seasonal songs are “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” (Judy Garland, of course, but James Taylor also has a stunning rendition) and Joni Mitchell’s “River.” As far as full albums go, Josh Groban’s “Noel” is daily background music for December. What are your most loved holiday songs? Warmly, Holly Leber Simmons, ASJA Weekly editor

The Importance of Freelancers in 2021
Business.com
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, small business owners generally saw freelancers as a way to fill an occasional gap in staffing. Yet, as the economy has suffered due to business shutdowns, economic uncertainty and other pandemic-related factors, companies have had to pivot to accommodate a new normal. For many employers, those changes have meant shifting some or all of their workforce to include freelance workers.

How to Deal With Rejection as a Writer
Forbes
Every writer faces rejection at some point, but this doesn’t mean that you should stop writing altogether.
If you want to get your work published, you have to let others read it. But you can’t expect every reader to like it. Different people will have different opinions about your writing. This will include both positive and negative reactions.
