Submit a Symposium Proposal for the ASPET 2016 Annual Meeting
ASPET
Members are invited to submit symposium concepts for the 2016 ASPET Annual Meeting to their division chairs on topics broadly related to pharmacology. The deadline for submission of symposium proposals is March 13, 2015. The proposals will be reviewed in April at the EB 2015 meeting and final decisions will be made in June 2015 by the program committee.

The Behavior, Biology, and Chemistry: Translational Research in Addiction group (BBC) at the Department of Pharmacology, UT Health Science Center, San Antonio is hosting its 2015 conference on Friday, March 13 from 3:00-5:00 PM at the La Quinta Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. The two-day conference will focus on translational aspects of addiction research among chemists, biologists, and behavioral scientists.

The biennial meeting of the National Directors of Graduate Studies in Pharmacology and Physiology (NDOGS) will be held in Cincinnati from July 10-12, 2015. A collaborative effort between ASPET and APS, the meeting has broad participation among colleagues who are working for a common cause and who face similar challenges.

Brain cancer patients may live longer thanks to a new cancer detection method developed by researchers. The collaborative team has created a powerful new intraoperative probe for detecting cancer cells. The handheld Raman spectroscopy probe enables surgeons, for the first time, to accurately detect virtually all invasive brain cancer cells in real time during surgery. The probe is superior to existing technology and could set a new standard for successful brain cancer surgery.

New therapeutic strategy discovered for ovarian cancer
