    Your smile: Your best accessory
    The Leader-Post
It is often said that the first thing people notice about you is your shoes. This is partially true. In reality, the first thing people notice about you is your smile. Nothing is quite as striking as a beautiful set of white teeth within a friendly smile. Not only is a whiter smile more attractive, but it also presents a healthier appearance. And while you may not have been born with it, you can certainly acquire it fairly easily in today's world.

Disaster response law recognizes dental role
    ADA
The 113th Congress and President Obama, with one accord and little fanfare, produced public law offering disaster response opportunity for dentists and dental facilities long advocated by the profession and the Association. The Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Reauthorization Act of 2013 makes dental entities eligible for carrying out certain educational and training activities pertaining to public health emergencies. States, at their option, may include dentists and dental facilities, including dental schools, in their public health emergency plans without mandating participation by dentists.

Beyond practice management: The heart of caring
    Dr. Bicuspid
In his book Money, Possessions and Eternity, Randy Alcorn writes, "Tolstoy said, 'The antagonism between life and conscience may be removed either by a change of life or by a change of conscience.' Many of us have elected to adjust our consciences rather than our lives. Our powers of rationalization are unlimited. They allow us to live in luxury and indifference while others, whom we could help if we chose to, starve and go to hell."
