But despite women now controlling over 51 percent of the wealth in the United States, the University of New Hampshire’s Center for Venture Research has reported that only 19 percent of angel investors in the U.S. in 2013 were women.

Ford Motor Co. would invest $900 million in its assembly plant on Chicago's South Side and create about 200 new jobs under a tentative labor agreement between the automaker and United Auto Workers.
The Michigan-based automaker would employ 4,600 workers at the Chicago Assembly Plant to support production of the Explorer, Police Interceptor, Taurus and a new vehicle to be named later, The Munster Times reports.

Chicago's recent tax hike will help fill a multibillion-dollar hole in its public pension funds, but it won't be enough to close the gap, according to a report by bond rater Moody's.
"Despite significantly increasing its contributions to its pension plans, Chicago's unfunded pension liabilities could grow, at a minimum, for another 10 years," the report said.

Three of Canada's largest pension plans have agreed to buy Chicago toll road operator Skyway Concession Co. for $2.8 billion from a group led by Spain's Ferrovial SA.
Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan said they will each own a third of Skyway under the terms of the deal, contributing $512 million each.

Chicago investment firm PEAK6 has bought a 25 percent stake in one of the minnows of England’s Premier League, AFC Bournemouth. The soccer team, which has lost it last four league games by a combined 13 to 2 score, averages about 11,000 spectators in its tiny Vitality Stadium on England’s south coast. At the other end of the scale, Manchester United’s Old Trafford seats about 76,000.

Long-duration bond strategies for the fifth consecutive quarter dominated the list of top-performing domestic fixed-income managers for the year ended Sept. 30, according to Morningstar Inc.'s separate account/collective investment trust database. Long-duration strategies accounted for nine of the overall top 10 strategies for the year ended Sept. 30. The previous quarter, seven of the top 10 strategies were long-duration strategies.
