Who will ultimately determine the fate of aerodromes?

When I took this job in 1996, the number one issue that occupied my time was aerodromes, from the right to have an aerodrome on your property to ensuring that a system of airports serving GA remains and that our sector continues to have access to larger airports with minimal fees and restrictions.
After all these years, with new issues being introduced such as privatization of the air navigation system and the security aftermath of 9/11, aerodromes remains the number one issue facing COPA.
We are now entering into an entirely new phase that has potential to undo many years of work and progress.More
New name for European aircraft manufacturer

A number of European aerospace manufacturers changed their names on Jan. 2. These companies, all part of EADS, now have easier names to remember, but it does mean some aircraft types will have new names. Private operator regulations not ready for prime time

Transport Canada's draft regulation CAR 604 is severely flawed in several areas, including capturing amateur-built turbojet powered aircraft such as the new Sub-Sonex aircraft, effectively prohibiting certain operations for our sector and discriminating against certain types of aircraft. Following a call for input on our website and the Jan. 2 edition of eFlight, we have finalized and submitted a letter, marked up version of the draft regulation and comments against the draft regulation.
COPA was not consulted as the draft regulation was developed. Transport Canada chose to ignore the consultation process and consequently there are significant issues that must now be resolved in order for the regulation to make sense. COPA worked closely with the CBAA in the development of our submission.More

Cessna survives midair collision with geese
It was a terrifying plane ride for two Illinois men after a goose strikes their small plane after takeoff, and the entire incident was captured on video.
