FBI investigating after pilot reports seeing drone flying near New York airport

The FBI said it's investigating an unmanned aircraft spotted by a pilot on an arriving flight near John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the craft, which came within 60 meters of an Alitalia SpA flight, said John Giacalone, special agent in charge of counterterrorism for the FBI's New York office. The craft was described as no more than three feet wide with four propellers, according to the FBI.

Last week, she landed in Gulfport, then flew to Jackson and convinced a local pilot to show her the highlights of the city — like blues night at Hal & Mal's and eating at Brent’s Soda Fountain. Then she experienced a view of the Reservoir by air before continuing on her journey to Little Rock.

Frontier Airlines pilots, flight attendants will use iPads

The program, approved by the Federal Aviation Administration, will replace the traditional 30-pound flight bags that contain aircraft manuals, flight-crew operating manual and navigational charts.

Transportation safety watchdog raises concerns after charter airline incident

Ottawa’s push to let Canada’s airlines police the safety of their own operations is facing fresh questions after a federal watchdog criticized Sunwing Airlines for failing to report a potentially dangerous inflight incident. In a new report, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada says Sunwing Airlines failed to report an inflight malfunction to safety authorities and was slow to learn the lessons of the March 2011 incident.
