COPA and APBQ are setting up a joint fishing and trekking expedition in northern Quebec, from July 5 to July 9 (4 days, 5 nights), at Mirage Aventure- CPM3 (N53 48, O 072 50.5), accessible by helicopter, float and wheel-equipped airplanes.
Rooms are available for $600 - $700 per person including all meals , or 6-person cottage s at $800 for the four nights, meals extra. Guides available, other lakes accessible with your own plane or the outfitter's.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) called in its eye in the sky to target rule-breaking motorists in the London, Ontario, area.
Using a Cessna 206 plane, police laid 30 traffic charges in a single-day blitz on Highway 401 in Middlesex County, the OPP said.
The bulk of the charges were for following too closely. Other offences included speeding, careless driving, driving while suspended and driving without a licence.

A small plane landed unexpectedly on Highway 20 east near St-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, in the Montérégie.
The pilot and his passenger are safe, and no one was hurt, said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Hélène Nepton. The plane seems to have been affected by a mechanical problem, she added.

Alberni Valley News
The Alberni Valley Regional Airport re-opened to limited air traffic and already aviation traffic has picked up.
Construction to the runway is two months behind schedule after closing last July for an expansion.
The first aircraft to land on the newly expanded runway was a Cessna 172 piloted by Pat Floyd and owned by the Alberni Flying Club, which had been temporarily relocated to the Qualicum Beach Airport so club members could still use their plane. The second aircraft to land was another Cessna, this one owned by Ray Bowerman of Nanaimo.

This month I received a question about using Aeroshell 2F in a vintage automobile and the ever popular question about why one should not use automotive or heavy duty engine oil in their aircraft engine.
The answers always go back to the chemistry of the oils. Automotive and heavy duty oils all contain ash or metallic additives and aviation piston engine oils are all ash less.
