Ontario's Liberal government denies Opposition charges that it interfered with the witness list for a hearing into a plan to install at least six, 152-metre-high wind turbines near the Collingwood airport.
Progressive Conservative house leader Jim Wilson says the province decided at the last minute to call a witness from NAVCanada instead of an expert from Transport Canada at an Environmental Review Tribunal hearing.

No, when pilots have a bad day at work, it's not a small thing. The margins for error are microchip thin and the smallest of vagaries can result in a catastrophe. As much as flying is about getting you from A to B in the fastest way possible, to the pilot it's mostly about risk management. Sully is never going to be offered as an inflight movie; the last thing an airline wants is passengers thinking about "the unlikely event," let alone an unprecedented one.

"I love you mom," he called out bravely to his mother Jen, and then gave two thumbs up for the camera.
Gavin was among more than 90 youth who enjoyed a plane ride at the hands of 10 pilots — nine from the Williams Lake Flying Club and his pilot Jim Van Doren from Prince George who flew down to help out with the day.

Flipped over and spinning: For most pilots, it's their worst nightmare. Not so for Spencer Suderman, who takes his lightweight Sunbird S-1x acrobatic biplane as high as he can go just to see how many inverted flat spins he can do on the way down. On March 20 over Yuma, Arizona, Suderman found out just how many. He spent 40 minutes climbing to 24,500 feet, but only two minutes, 57 seconds to careen down to 2,000 feet, completing a spin every 1.5 seconds for a record-breaking 98.5 spins.

The FAA's long-awaited ADS-B rebate program is now online, and despite a few first-day glitches with the system early that were quickly smoothed out, it's been getting plenty of takers. "We're up to 1,360 applicants as of the end of the day," David Gray, the FAA's program manager for ADS-B, told AVweb. It's hard to predict if that rate will continue, grow or decrease, Gray said, but he added it's in the best interest of aircraft owners to start the process sooner rather than later.
