A Call to Action: Engaging with IACET and Maximizing Your Experience!
|
|
IACET
Time, dedication, hard work and discipline are a few of the things that have proved tried and true to build successful organizations. This truth shows not only in the internal structure of said organization, but also within its building blocks, or in IACETS world, its affiliates. Membership Engagement can present itself in many shapes and forms, from participating in committees, attending annual events, or even something as simple as enrolling into webinars to gain further education. Regardless of the route chosen by members, it is essential to comprehend how something so unexacting as enrolling into webinars or workshops from home, as well as attending an event or participating on a board to capitalize on the networking opportunity benefit not only the organization but you as a member.
Involvement in webinars and workshops seems as though its sole advantage would be the opportunity to gain insight on a particular topic of interest, however, these virtual events present the opportunity for learners to not only receive valuable information, but also to interact with other professionals across the industry board. Because IACET stands out for its eclectic group of members across all industry types, this presents learners with the ability to network and gain perspective from individuals with whom they might have never come in contact with had they not participated in said workshop or webinar. This effortless interaction can give members contingency to build newfound relationships into professional development opportunities for themselves as well as their organizations.
Though this act is a time commitment, participating in committees or a board enables you to become a driving force in the industry. This contribution opens doors for opportunities that might not have been presented without the relationships gained from engaging in these committees. Meaningful partnerships can be born with a little thought about how we can create this network to help each other. Not only will this experience cause you to stand out among peers, becoming a leader in the industry allows you to have a voice in the path of continuing education and training.
Goal #2 of the 2020-2021 Strategic Plan is to Strengthen Stakeholder Engagement. We want to provide opportunities for our APs and Members to become Ambassadors! An association thrives when its affiliates can collect on the full value of their membership and turn that value into building blocks not only for their career, but for the life of the association and their respective organization. IACET is always looking for people to get involved regardless of where they are in their career, so check out our website or reach out to our dedicated team to see where you can get started!

Getting up and going to work is looking different than it did just a few years ago.
