IAEM has updated the topic for today’s Thursday Learning Webinar Series, “What We Don’t Know About State Spending on Natural Disasters Could Cost Us,” scheduled for 1:00-2:00 p.m. EST. To help inform federal efforts, The Pew Charitable Trusts conducted a survey of state emergency management agencies, which found that comprehensive tracking of state expenditures was missing, but better data could help all levels of government more effectively manage the growth in natural disaster spending. Pew’s Colin Foard, associate manager with the Fiscal Federalism Initiative, will present research findings and discuss policy movement on disaster spending at the state and federal levels. There is still time to join this learning session. Register online.
