The IAEM-USA Council is holding its annual Council officers’ election. Additionally, IAEM-USA Regions 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9 are holding Regional officers’ elections. Voting began on Aug. 1, 2019, when voting members were sent emails with their individual links to online ballots. Voting will end on Aug. 30, 2019. As part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) ongoing efforts to support state, local, tribal and territorial partners, Acting Secretary Kevin K. McAleenan recently announced final allocations of $350 million for six Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 DHS competitive preparedness grant programs. These allocations together with the more than $1.3 billion in non-competitive grant funding announced by DHS in April,2019, total more than $1.7 billion in FY 2019 granted to assist states, local areas, tribal and territorial governments, nonprofit agencies and the private sector with their preparedness efforts.
