A key mindset to achieve more
Michael Hyatt
I believe that each of us has the power within us to learn what it takes to accomplish our biggest goals. To stretch ourselves outside of our comfort zone and really go for it. When I reflect on those around me who have experienced tremendous success, who have made their dream a reality, one trait that I often see exemplified in their life is that of an experimental mindset.

7 reasons humility is a highly desired leadership trait
Fast Company
When we think of great leaders, humility may not always be the first word we'd use to describe them. Many bigger-than-life executives such as Steve Jobs or Bill Gates would likely be described first as visionary, bold, or charismatic. Yet, if we look more closely, there are also leaders (such as, say, Richard Branson) who are often described as humble and laid-back.

To maximize team results, manage the whole employee
Entrepreneur
Faiza Hughell writes: I can hardly remember a time when I didn't have a job. On my way up the career ladder, I've worked under many different managers. Are you asking enough questions?
Kevin Eikenberry
We ask questions everyday — they are a natural part of conversation. In part, because we are so familiar with the practice, we don't often take time to consider the power of those questions or our skill in using them. As a leader and coach, they are one of the most useful tools we have to do our jobs well. Even if you are nodding in agreement with what you just read, here is my question for you: are you asking enough questions?

Governance: Plain and simple
By Robert C. Harris
Defining governance can be difficult. It is a broad concept with many influences. Volunteers are more familiar with management practices than they are with governance. Some organizations provide a hefty leadership manual to describe the board's role. Others reduce it to a couple of pages with a dozen or so directives; for instance, the board is expected to raise funds, the board must adopt a budget, meetings are held monthly, etc. Hats off to the organization that can describe governance in a few sentences. Keeping it simple may avoid drifting from governance to management.

How to bounce back from failure
Michael Hyatt
We all encounter failure. Whether we want to admit it or not, it's the truth. Goals are missed. Sales numbers aren't hit. It just happens. Sometimes, it is because of mistakes we made, and other times, it is due to circumstances outside of our control. I personally believe that it is in times of failure, that the most important lessons are learned. You find the drive within yourself to get back up, to persevere, to keep going.

How to become a more empathetic leader in difficult times
Lolly Daskal
In difficult times, it's easy for people to fall victim to their anxieties and fears, a natural response to an extended period of stress and uncertainty. What that means in the workplace is that more than ever before we need leaders who are empathetic — who have the ability to be compassionate and sympathetic, who can step into someone else's shoes, who can understand and act on the needs of others. When people feel seen, heard and understood, leadership is at its best, and empathy is what makes that happen.

Stop making excuses for toxic bosses
Harvard Business Review
Far too many people have worked for a boss who has bullied or belittled them. This behavior takes many forms: insulting direct reports in public, invading their privacy or gossiping about them behind their backs. Toxic actions such as these contribute to not only employee dissatisfaction and stress, but also even more harmful outcomes such as alcoholism, family conflict and health complaints. Yet, abusive bosses continue to wreak havoc and leave destruction in their wake. Why, then, does it seem that organizations and employees put up with toxic bosses?
