The theme for this year's Safety Stand Down is "Reduce Your Exposure: It's Everybody's Responsibility." Coordinated by the IAFC Safety, Health and Survival Section and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), this year's focus is on increasing the understanding of occupational cancer risks and implementing recommendations in the Lavender Ribbon Report developed by the IAFC Volunteer and Combination Officers Section and NVFC. Agencies are encouraged to suspend all non-emergency activities during the week of June 16-22 in order to focus on training and education related to this year's theme.

They don't try to be the smartest person in the room, they create conditions in which everyone in their organization can be smart, creative and relevant.
