IAFN has added a social justice pillar to the draft strategic plan currently being finalized by IAFN Board and staff. As a result, we will be creating a social justice committee to look at how the Board should become involved in working for issues of social justice and what it means to be committed to social justice both for our members and the patient populations we serve.
We are currently seeking applicants interested in serving as Committee Chair who want to help develop this vision for IAFN. Under policy, the Chair will be chosen by the Board President and asked to serve a two-year term. The Chair will be asked to select Committee members from the applicants and direct the Committee according to the Board established objectives which will include but not be limited to defining the role of Forensic Nursing’s role in working for social justice. Click here to learn more and apply.
This webinar will discuss how migration, immigration status, culture and trauma impact the physical, brain and emotional development children who are victims of sexual assault and child abuse and the special needs of immigrant and refugee child victims. Watch it for FREE.

Violence against women could become significantly less visible in police-recorded crime figures when a new counting method comes into effect, warn researchers at Lancaster University.
Plans for Home Office Counting Rules to count coercive and controlling behaviour as 'non-injurious violent crime' capped at one crime per victim — even though statistics show one in 20 victims can experience more than 10 domestic violence crimes a year — will mask the true extent of the problem.
