The little boy, along with his sister, who was kept in a homemade cage in his own home and once rescued seemed to have discovered the sunlight after a lifetime of darkness.
“It was our first neglect case,” said Yingling.

Survivors of traumatic injuries often face significant physical and mental health challenges, including depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Because black men in the United States are disproportionately affected by traumatic injuries, they merit focused attention on the mental health effects of trauma and how those effects may vary by the intentionality of the injury.

That task may become somewhat less challenging, thanks to a new database at Rutgers University-Camden that can help to bring more reliability to the interpretation of complex DNA evidence.
