If you’re finding it hard to stay home right now, imagine how it would feel to be a doctor or nurse. Healthcare workers don’t have the luxury of holing up in their homes to shield themselves from the coronavirus. They have to expose themselves to the risk, and some are separating themselves from their families for weeks to avoid transmitting the virus to them.
They’re not only suffering the anxiety of caring for sick patients — while facing a dire lack of personal protective equipment and rapidly changing hospital protocols — but also forgoing the calming companionship of their partners and children. It’s a whole different level of lonely from what most of us are dealing with.

Research shows that physical and sexual abuse are risk factors for depression in adolescents. However, we know less about the differences between emotional abuse and neglect as critical risk factors in teenage depression. The study found that emotional abuse and neglect affect adolescent depression differently depending on gender and ethnicity.

After many years of research, the problem of treating post-traumatic stress disorder remains unsolved. The main issue is that the current pharmacological treatment for PTSD is not adequately effective and may cause serious side effects. In addition, PTSD has harmful effects on visceral organs, in particular the heart, liver, kidneys, and even the brain. Scientists at South Ural State University have figured out how to alleviate some complications of stress disorder without using medications. The article on intermittent hypoxic conditioning alleviating post-traumatic stress disorder-induced damage was published in one of the highly ranked journals of the second quartile International Journal of Molecular Sciences.
