Children as young as three show a strong level of concern for others and an intuitive sense of restorative justice, according to a new study by researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig (Germany) and the University of Manchester (U.K.).
The findings show that young children prefer to return lost items to their rightful owners, and if for some reason that is not an option, they will typically prevent a third party from taking what does not belong to them.

A forensic nurse in Nanaimo and Surrey, Falkenberg has examined dozens of people experiencing the worst days of their lives, such as 15-year-old girls who wake at a party, pants gone, with no memory of the last five hours. Sex trade workers who weren’t listened to when they said no and men who were assaulted but faced the stigma of no one believing them.

On June 8, former Penn State student James Vivenzio filed a complaint in Pennsylvania court alleging his fraternity was responsible for hazing and sexually abusive activities. Among other things, he alleges the fraternity chapter of Kappa Delta Rho maintained a Facebook page with photos of drunk and unconscious nude women, some of whom looked like they were being sexually assaulted. Fraternity pledges were given alcohol and sometimes drugs to facilitate sexual assault and abuse, the complaint alleges.

New York is on track to become the second state to require that colleges notate on transcripts when students are found responsible for sexual assault.
The Empire State would join Virginia, which enacted a similar law in May requiring that certain sexual violence violations be noted on students' transcripts.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) and leadership in the state legislature announced this week agreement on a package of campus sexual assault legislation known as "Enough Is Enough." The bill passed both the New York Senate and the state Assembly.
