Of the 41 inmates who responded to an informal Observer survey, 22 of them (54 percent) reported have violent or abusive childhoods. According to Greenville Police, there have been sixteen rapes reported in the community since this time last year. But numbers show only four rapes reported the year before. That’s a 300 percent increase.
