Realtors® report positive outlook in commercial market with increases in sales volume, income
National Association of Realtors
Realtors® who practice commercial real estate reported an increase in sales transaction volume and medium gross annual income last year, according to the 2014 National Association of Realtors® Commercial Member Profile. NAR commercial members who were surveyed conduct all or part of their activity in commercial sales, leasing, brokerage and development for land, office and industrial space, multifamily, and retail buildings, as well as property management.

Chicago's LM Value Investors completes renovation of 115,000-square-foot office building in Indiana

LM Value Investors, LLC, a Chicago-area real estate investment fund, has completed an extensive renovation of The Crossings of Schererville, a 115,443-square-foot office building in Schererville, Indiana. The fund purchased the building in December of 2012 and has been revitalizing the interior and exterior of the building, modernizing the building’s mechanical and aesthetic features and increasing the number of tenants.

It’s north of the Clearwater Crossing shopping center at 82nd Street and Dean Road, within walking distance of the renovated Rivers Edge shopping center anchored by Nordstrom Rack and The Container Store.

1st phase of Areva Pharmaceuticals project completed

On May 16, officials from the state of Indiana and Harrison County will celebrate the opening of Areva Pharmaceuticals Inc. as the first tenant in the Interchange Industrial Complex, just north of Corydon, Indiana. The company is opening a $7 million, 65,000-square-foot distribution center on 6 acres in the complex. It is the first phase of planned development at the site, according to a news release.

Mortgage foreclosure sought for former Colgate site

A New York company who sold the nearly 60-acre former Colgate-Palmolive Co. plant in Clarksville in 2011 has filed a mortgage foreclosure lawsuit against its current property owner and a commercial real estate company. Indianapolis attorney Nathan Danielson, who filed the suit in Clark Circuit Court 2 April 30, declined to discuss any details about the case when reached by phone on May 2.

Veteran real estate exec takes helm of DTZ office

The chance to return to the helm of a local commercial real estate firm proved too enticing for David Reed to pass up. He left his managing director’s position in 2010 at the Indianapolis office of the CBRE brokerage to start his own real estate advising and consulting practice. But now Reed, 58, has resurfaced in a new role at DTZ, which is looking to grow its Indianapolis presence.

Up-and-comer molds city's justice center deal

Indianapolis Director of Enterprise Development David Rosenberg is young, but he rarely comes across as naïve. Rosenberg, 28, revealed a bit of his inexperience during a recent meeting with near-west-side residents, however, as he discussed how a new criminal-justice center could spur redevelopment in their neighborhood. The city’s aim, he said, is to drive traffic to the area. Then he added, “Ten years ago, there was nothing on Mass Ave.”
