Revised IREC seller disclosure form — July 2014
ICBR
The Indiana Real Estate Commission has now posted a revised version of the Seller’s Residential Real Estate Sales Disclosure form. The Real Estate Commission added language specifically dealing with meth-contaminated properties. This revised form is now available in your statewide transactional forms and the Legal Library at IndianaRealtors.com.

US construction spending hits highest level in 5.5 years

U.S. construction spending rebounded strongly to hit its highest level in more than 5-1/2 years in July as private construction increased and state and local government outlays surged, in a further sign of vigor in the economy. Construction spending increased 1.8 percent to an annual rate of $981.31 billion, the highest level since December 2008, the Commerce Department said recently.

Bloomington firm wins construction bid for transit center

The IndyGo board of directors recently chose Bloomington-based Weddle Bros. Building Group LLC to build the planned Downtown Transit Center. The Downtown Transit Center is expected to be the hub for the bus system in Indianapolis. The $20 million center will feature a 14,000-square-foot building with a public indoor waiting area, space for IndyGo customer-service employees and facilities for bus operators.

Improving economy slowly brightens outlook for commercial real estate

The strong rebound in economic growth during the second quarter and ongoing job creation are gradually improving the outlook for all of the major commercial real estate sectors, according to the National Association of Realtors® quarterly commercial real estate forecast. Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, says after many false starts, the economy finally appears to be turning a corner to firmer ground.

Inland Real Estate buys Princess City Plaza in Mishawaka

Inland Real Estate Corporation in a joint venture with PGGM disclosed the buyout of a Class-A power center — Princess City Plaza — in Mishawaka, Indiana, for $28.6 million. However, shares of Inland Real Estate were down during the regular trading session on Aug. 22, following this announcement, on broader market concerns.

Apartments, restaurant on tap for downtown's south side
Indianapolis Business Journal
Local apartment developer TWG Development LLC wants to build 120 units on downtown’s south side as part of a mixed-use development anchored by a restaurant. A joint venture between TWG and Vince Shimp, a local appraiser who operates South Meridian Properties, bought a 22,000-square-foot building at 915 S. Meridian St. just south of the Greek Islands eatery.
