NAR meets with EPA on lead paint concerns
National Association of REALTORS®
NAR has been working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to help guide the agency’s efforts to identify lead paint hazards in remodeling activities in commercial buildings. NAR, along with several other real estate groups that have formed a coalition, met with the EPA and the OMB to discuss concerns with the EPA’s process to identify the lead paint hazard.

Investors turn to crowdfunding for industrial park

Realty Mogul, the online real estate capital platform connecting accredited investors to real estate investment opportunities, announced today that it has successfully crowdfunded a large industrial real estate transaction in Indiana. Realty Mogul's accredited investors contributed more than a million dollars through the online crowdfunding platform to acquire Jackson Industrial Park with Brennan Investment Group, LLC.

2 downtown office towers changing hands

Two signature downtown office towers are close to getting new owners, with one set to change hands this month. The 36-story Regions Tower is selling in a negotiated transaction, and the 30-story Market Tower is getting a new owner via a loan default. They are among downtown’s largest office complexes, ranking third and sixth, respectively, in terms of square footage.

1st meeting for business personal property tax committee

A committee of lawmakers, business leaders and state and local government officials met Sept. 15, to study the state’s business personal property tax. The legislation gave local governments the option to eliminate the tax on business equipment for new purchases and small businesses. Study committee chairman and Senator Brandt Hershman said the committee’s first meeting looked at data on the state’s business tax climate to get a sense of who’s paying and why.

Carmel developer pitching $150 million Midtown plan
Indianapolis Business Journal
Carmel-based Old Town Development LLC expects to file plans soon for a $150 million redevelopment project on 11 acres in the suburban community’s blighted Midtown area. Mayor Jim Brainard and other city leaders joined Old Town officials at a recent news conference announcing the proposal: several structures are on the drawing board, including a 700-space parking garage and a 60,000-square-foot office building overlooking a public plaza next to the Monon.

Merger leads to new name for real estate firm
