American studio MKCA has created a small, colorful library for the Concourse House, a Bronx-based shelter for women and children who are transitioning out of homelessness. The shelter, established in 1991, provides stable, transitional housing, and a range of social services. The non-profit organization's ultimate aim is to help families secure permanent housing.

Interior Design
An 1800s New York storefront is a fitting home for the first U.S. outpost of Claus Porto, the Portuguese brand known for its azulejo-inspired soap packaging, that itself was founded in 1887 in Porto. The 550-square-foot interior by Tacklebox Architecture is dominated by a freestanding archway layered with Portuguese references. Its shape is derived from the São Bento train station, first proposed in 1887, and the diamond patterning mimics the tiled facade of the historic Casa dos Bicos. At the center of the shop, a monolithic washbasin that nods to the ritual of daily cleansing is carved from, of course, Portuguese marble.

To redesign the interiors of the company's Palo Alto headquarters, Studio O A embodied the dichotomies at the heart of the company's culture: elegant/industrial, intense/warm, and edgy/comfortable. Sapphire's office is a marriage of contrasts, from cozy, home-like kitchen and lounge spaces to crisply modern work areas. Warm wood segues into cool tile and industrial light fixtures contrast with classic, tailored conference room furniture.

Jumeirah Group’s first luxury eco-conscious resort has debuted along the shores of Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. The Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort sits at the threshold of 1,312 feet of white sand frequented by indigenous wildlife.
The sustainable retreat overlooks the Arabian Gulf and is home to handsomely crafted, modern interiors flooded with natural light. Panoramic suites are outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies, while private two-, three-, and four-bedroom duplex villas are appointed with private pools. Three outdoor infinity pools are installed onsite along with a children’s pool and the Bodyism Wellness Center.
