Health and wellness may be the focus, but Habitas’ new members-only clubhouse is fashioned with more than just yoga junkies in mind. The converted firehouse, built in 1825, does have a dedicated fitness space, but the conference rooms, kitchens, communal wet bar, and recording studio attract a variety of users. Compacting a myriad of spaces into a handful of narrow floors was a task that design firm Style Mood, led by founder and co-creative director Nil Erbil, managed seamlessly.

At the foot of the Mogan Mountain in Huzhou, China, sits the Anadu, a luxury rural resort designed by Studio8 where the element of water is the unifying theme throughout the hotel’s interiors and themed guest rooms. Studio8 designed the Anadu guest rooms with four different themes, each unique in their own space and inspired by the room’s surroundings. The tea room faces the white tea harvest so its interiors reflect materials and colors that reinforce the tea theme.

Marriott Intl.’s Moxy brand is set to debut its latest experiential property in Manhattan’s Flower District this fall. With architecture by Stonehill Taylor, the 37-story, 349-key Moxy Chelsea will feature interiors by Yabu Pushelberg and Rockwell Group. Restaurant and nightlife company TAO Group also plans to debut new F&B concepts in partnership with Francesco and Lorenzo Panella of Antica Pesa (Rome and Brooklyn) at the hotel, which is being developed by Lightstone.

Los Angeles-based Houston Hospitality has announced that it will spearhead the launch of On the Record, a new nightlife concept within the Park MGM in Las Vegas. Poised for an opening on New Year’s Eve, the new nightclub will serve as the company’s first project outside of LA.
Located off the main casino floor across from the Park Theater, the 11,000-square-foot venue will reflect the brand’s modern speakeasy-style atmosphere. Comprising three rooms, the indoor-outdoor, design-driven concept will become the largest concept in the brand’s portfolio.

Hospitality Design
Meliá Hotels has announced that the Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real in the Dominican Republic will open this December. Spanish architect Alvaro Sans will spearhead the design of the $110 million property, which will be oriented in a circle to embody the universal symbol of wholeness and perfection.
New accommodations will range from 300 to more than 3,000 square feet, with suites housing one to two bedrooms as well as living and dining rooms, freestanding soaking tubs, and walk-in showers. Private, secluded balconies will feature hydro-massage whirlpool tubs and outdoor living spaces.

Target Corp. latest partnership is a particularly sweet one.
The discounter, in collaboration with the Museum of Ice Cream. MOIC has opened The Pint Shop, in downtown Manhattan. Opened through August, the pink-accented space is part fun attraction and part retail, with supermarket-styled aisles. In addition to selling MOIC’s newly launched line of ice cream, the store is stocked with a limited selection of other goods, ranging from Swell thermoses to notebooks embossed with cool sayings.
