Dezeen
Juniper berry-blue furniture sits against blackened walls inside this cozy bar, laboratory, and store that design studio YSG has created in Sydney for gin brand Four Pillars.
Four Pillars Laboratory occupies a two-story corner building in Sydney's buzzing Surry Hills neighborhood. It was originally built in 1939 as premises for a tea company but has since been reincarnated as various retail and hospitality spaces.

Cross-continent collaboration brings west-coast color to Seoul
Metropolis Magazine
While American ice cream chain Baskin-Robbins is recognized in the United States by its pink and blue branding and Original 31 Flavors, the brand lives quite a different life abroad. As known in Korea, the company develops innovative, high-concept ice cream shops that double as meeting places, cafe lounges, and Instagrammable pop-up galleries. So, when Baskin-Robbins South Korea courted boutique design firm Osmose to help create a photo-worthy environment with a uniquely West Coast vibe for their new location in Seoul, the Portland-based studio jumped at the opportunity.

Why planning for generic collaboration no longer works
Interior Design
Across the interiors industry, workplace planners are trying to make sense of pandemic-related shifts. And while there are multiple surveys designed to gauge the impact on the industry, their intent is to provide data trends. No single survey can define the future of design. The responsibility lies with designers and strategists to determine how to interpret the data and adequately plan for the future. Needless to say, there’s no consensus on how to do so.

Vox Architects references space flight at the Gagarin Airport in Saratov, Russia
Interior Design
Nearly 60 years have passed since Yuri Gagarin became the first human being in space. Today, that historic voyage is honored at something else flight-oriented: Gagarin Airport in Saratov—the same Russian city in which the Soviet astronaut landed in 1961 upon returning from his 108-minute orbit around the earth. It’s in that new airport that Vox Architects has unveiled a cosmically inspired VIP lounge.

Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa
Hospitality Design
For developer Arjun Mehra, the acquisition of farmland overlooking a double bend of the Ganges river in northern India proved personal. Mehra says he found it “nostalgic, humbling, and invigorating” to delve into the vernacular of Himalayan settlements in Uttarakhand State and beyond—which ultimately underpinned his vision for the Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa.
In collaboration with Canadian architecture firm YH2, which developed the masterplan and concept, and Singapore-based design firm eco.id, Mumbai’s Edifice Consultants translated that vision into reality.
