Or in the case of Chicago’s The 300, a 1970s tower located riverfront on South Wacker Drive, to creative use thanks to client Golub & Company and Huntsman Architectural Group. Working from outside in, the renovation project—which is a 2019 Best of Year Awards finalist—was part of a rebranding of the 35-story tower to make it enticing not only to prospective tenants but also to the surrounding neighborhood.

Fashion brand Acne Studios has created an office space that resembles a chic fashion high school (too late to enroll?) by way of its brand new headquarters in Stockholm. Dubbed Floragatan 13—after the street it’s located on—the brand transformed the former Czechoslovakian Embassy that was built in 1972 and designed by Jan Bočan by adding custom furniture, eclectic art, and, of course, design elements rendered in Acne Studios’ signature pink hue. The Brutalist building spans more than 10 floors, all with the brand's signature aesthetic, courtesy of the in-house design team and Swedish architect Johannes Norlander Arkitektur.

We are a species of color lovers. Our ancestors were outlining their hands and painting geometric shapes and animals in palettes of blood-red, yellow ochre, and sooty black on cave walls some 40,000 years ago. Later, we gave colors meaning. We have gone to great lengths to secure the best and brightest.
