Tampa's Amalie Arena serves hot dogs, nachos and the rest of the foods that fans expect at an NHL game. But the arena also offers herb-studded risotto, seasonal soups, and a salad bar — all sourced from the stadium's onsite hydroponic farm.
Since 2014, this 1,120 square foot vertical farm has been the source for up to 80 percent of the fresh produce served in the arena's club level restaurants and executive suites. On game nights, this can mean feeding up to 5,000 Tampa Bay Lightning fans, and those in charge hope to see that number rise.

New York City has mandated that any food item with value of 2,500 mg of sodium or greater (which is the recommended daily allowance for sodium) must display a designating salt icon on their menus and menu boards. Most of the standard concession and hospitality food and beverage items will certainly not need to concern themselves with this new sodium regulation, however, in an attempt to be as transparent as possible The National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) is requesting all Supplier members to forward us their product information sheets that have determined the sodium content of your products. We will create a Sodium Database and make this information available to all NAC members behind the Member's Area on naconline.org.

In theory, airports and cinemas seem made for each other. If polls are anything to go by, the demand for more airport entertainment is sky high, and certainly cinemas can't ask for an audience more captive than one waiting out a long layover. Yet few airports seem to have been willing to take the plunge, until now.
