Pizza Hut has pledged to drop two preservatives and reduce its use of antibiotics as part of an effort to improve food quality.
By the end of July, the restaurant chain will stop serving meat with butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) or butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). The Food and Drug Administration considers the chemicals "safe for use" in food, but critics including the Environmental Working Group say consumer should avoid them.

Hot dogs are the most popular food Levy Restaurants sells at the seven Major League Baseball stadiums it serves. "Usually by the end of the second inning people are getting up to get a hot dog, or another hot dog," says Ron Krivosik, vice president and regional chef for the company, which also serves arenas, race tracks and colleges and is owned by British food-service company Compass Group. "It's such a comfort food for so many Americans because it reminds them of when they were kids."
