The NFL team kicked off a food waste program at FirstEnergy Stadium in 2013, in hopes of diverting food scraps from landfills, and has made some great progress since. The Huffington Post's Karah Preiss stopped by the stadium to see the program in action and learn more about the way that the Cleveland Browns Hospitality Group handles food waste.

The National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) announced that its new tagline will be, "Where Food Meets Fun." Association members voted on four potential taglines before and during the NAC Concession & Hospitality Expo held last week in Minneapolis. The unveiling was made Thursday, July 21 during the NAC Annual Meeting as part of the Expo. Shelly Olesen, ACS, of C. Cretors and Company submitted the winning idea.

Americans say they feel bad about the 130 billion pounds of food the nation wastes every year. But not badly enough to do anything about it. More than half the respondents in a new national survey said they are aware of the scale of this $160 billion problem. Almost 80 percent said they feel guilty when throwing food away, but 51 percent said it would be difficult to reduce household food waste. And 42 percent said they don't have enough time to worry about it.

The Hollywood Reporter
Carmike Cinemas said that it has entered into an amended and restated agreement to be acquired by AMC Theatres for $1.2 billion in cash and stock and including debt.
The companies had previously agreed to a $1.1 billion deal, or $30 per share, that drew opposition from some shareholders. The new deal is worth $33.06 per share, or 10.2 percent more.

The Obama administration finalized a rule requiring all snacks sold in schools to meet the same health standards that first lady Michelle Obama championed for in the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Smart Snacks in School rule, which applies to food sold a la cart in school stores and vending machines, require snacks be made with whole grains, or be low-fat dairy, a fruit, vegetable or lean protein.
