Despite emerging from a painful history dogged by racism, a majority of churches planted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2018 had non-white leaders, the organization’s President J.D. Greear has revealed.
Greear shared the data recently on the opening night of the Black Church Leadership and Family Conference in Ridgecrest, North Carolina, where he explained that more than 60 percent of all Southern Baptist churches planted last year were planted with leaders of color.

Unoccupied church buildings are a liability nightmare and most standard insurance carriers restrict basic coverage when a church building becomes vacant and unused. Once the building becomes unoccupied, and no longer being used for the purpose it was intended and is going to remain unoccupied for a period of 45 days or more, your property is more vulnerable to loss, such as fire, vandalism, theft, and transient housing. Standard insurance policies may become restricted, special conditions imposed or an additional premium charged when a building becomes vacant and unused.
