Time sensitive poll closes today; Code Proposal — Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down?
The Fairfax Group is a group that attended a meeting a few weeks ago in Fairfax, Va., to work together on a deck code proposal that originated in Fairfax. Those in attendance were the AWC, NAHB, CLMA, NADRA, VBCOA, CCICC, Simpson Strong Tie and others. The group also had a conference call-in from Dr. Don Bender. The group is looking for support from organizations and associations throughout the industry for the proposed code suggestions found here.More

NADRA New Jersey Deck Competition
It's that time of year again Jersey! Time to show off those projects and get the recognition you've been waiting for. We are about to launch the 2013 local New Jersey Deck Competition! Registration will be open by next week and you will have until Jan. 25, to get your projects submitted! Entries will cost $25 and are only open to current NADRA members in good standing. The Annual New Jersey Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21, at Ariana's Grand in Woodbridge, New Jersey at 6:30 p.m. Registration for dinner will also be open by next week where you can purchase your tickets. Lastly, New Jersey is now seeking sponsors to help cover the costs for their big night. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor — levels range from $500-$2,500. OSHA extends temporary fall-protection enforcement once again
Now, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has decided to push its toughest enforcement measures for its new fall-protection rule back to March 15, according to a memo released by the U.S. Department of Labor.
