The Treated Wood Council has completed a quantitative evaluation of the environmental impacts associated with the national production, use and disposition of ACQ-treated lumber decking and wood plastic composite decking using life-cycle assessment methodologies and following iSO 14044 standards. The results for treated wood decking are significant:
- Less Energy & Resource Use
- Lower Environmental Impacts
- Less Fossil Fuel Use
- Recoverable Energy

EXCLUSIVE: An infant and four other people were taken to hospitals with what appeared to be relatively minor injuries after a second-floor deck collapsed in a quiet Westwood, N.J., neighborhood during an Easter afternoon get together. "It's a good thing there wasn't anyone underneath at the time," said Westwood Police Chief Frank Regino, who rushed to the scene. "It just gave way."
