HomeAdvisor racked up operating income of $12.8 million in the third quarter, a 110 percent increase from the year-earlier period, on a 35 percent revenue gain to $133.6 million, the service provider's parent company, IAC, reported. The gains were driven primarily by a 39 percent increase in domestic revenue, as the number of service professionals paying to be part of the service rose by 48 percent to more than 137,000 companies. Service requests, meanwhile, climbed 27 percent.

Fall protection rules are broken most often on construction sites, and the consequences can be fatal. Fall-related violations accounted for 359 out of 899 construction-related deaths in 2014 and more than 20,000 citations in the last four years, based on data from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
