Diversity Poll Deadline Extended
NSPS Diversity Committee
The deadline for participation in this poll has been extended to November 4. It is very important to hear from participants in the surveying profession about your experiences and thoughts on how we can make this wonderful tent that we call surveying bigger and more diverse. With that goal in mind, we ask that you take some time to complete a poll (please click here) that is intended to help us better understand where NSPS is today, and help in charting our course into the future.
Our mission is to increase diversity as a way to promote and expand the surveying profession. We believe in our hearts that we have far more in common than not. We also understand this is a difficult and often uncomfortable conversation. By leveraging all our different points of view and perspectives we can build a stronger, more inclusive profession and hopefully open avenues to new groups and organizations that we can incorporate into our workforce development efforts.

Building America is a comedy about passing on the trades of land surveying and equipment sales to the next generation. An old-school father tries to instill his thrifty ways onto a son enamored with new technology while a new sales associate learns how (not) to sell survey gear.

This past Tuesday, October 27, marked the 48th anniversary of the “Brooks Act”. When to Use OpenStreetMap vs. Premium Address Data
Directions Magazine
Many businesses and organizations rely on accurate address data for the services they provide. OpenStreetMap does not always include all the information needed to qualify an address as complete and valid, for example, a street name and no house number, or a street address but no city, state, or zip code. This can present problems for businesses that require address accuracy for many types of services, such as those provided by emergency responders.
