Google asking much of global workforce to work from home to prevent coronavirus spread

Google parent company Alphabet is recommending that all employees in North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East work from home due to coronavirus.
The company recently asked North America employees to work from home through April 10, according to an email shown to CNN. Recently, a Google spokesperson confirmed to CNN that staffers in the other regions will work remotely starting on March 12, until further notice.

Oracle cancels conference, expected to draw 5,500 people to Chicago, over coronavirus concerns

Oracle is canceling its upcoming conference in Chicago due to health concerns associated with the coronavirus.
It is the second announcement of a canceled event at McCormick Place in three days. Recently, the International Housewares Association pulled the plug on its annual trade-only event, The Inspired Home Show, which was scheduled for March 14-17 and expected to generate $77 million in spending on Chicago hotels, restaurants, transportation and entertainment.
