From nothing to a full-blown inter-community busing system in Southwestern Ontario stretching from Sarnia to Norfolk County, starting in less than three months.
With five routes linking at least 20 communities in the region, an area hammered by Via Rail and coach line service cuts, the new inter-community busing network funded by the province — at least for the next few years — will lean heavily on a London company whose bread and butter has been moving students and hospital patients.

The lack of safety belts in a passenger bus involved in a deadly crash Sunday on the Pennsylvania Turnpike could be a critical factor as civil liability issues unfold, a transportation lawyer said.
Three people — the bus driver and two passengers — died when they were ejected from the bus during the crash. A pair of UPS drivers also died in the pre-dawn crash in Mt. Pleasant Township that involved the bus, three tractor-trailers and a passenger car and sent as many as 60 people to area hospitals.

The Points Guy
One of the things I love most about staying in a hotel, whether in my home city or in some remote corner of the world, is the familiarity.
For years, the blueprint for a hotel was more or less the same, whether you were staying in a $100 room or a $1,000 suite. But that model — a cozy lobby with a front desk and a concierge; a room stocked with miniature toiletries and a turndown service that concluded with a folded duvet and a single chocolate on your pillow — has been transformed.

Toronto may not offer the hot weather and sandy beaches that many popular winter vacation destinations do but a new campaign is aiming to convince travellers that there are still plenty of reasons to brave the frigid cold and visit the city.
Tourism Toronto’s “Spotlight Weekends” campaign, which is being launched in collaboration with the City of Toronto, will provide visitors with two for one deals and other discounts on admission at dozens of popular attractions over four different weekends between the end of January and early March (Jan. 31 – Feb. 2, Feb. 7-9, Feb. 21-23 and Feb. 28 - March 1.)

Although a family member of a Westboro bus crash victim says it's a step in the right direction that the City of Ottawa has accepted civil responsibility for the tragic incident, she would still like it to go one step farther.
"It feels validating, finally that they're stepping up and admitting some responsibility behind the accident," said Karen Benvie, daughter of Judy Booth, one of three passengers who died when an OC Transpo double-decker bus struck a steel awning at Westboro Station on January 11, 2019.

Greg Rickford, Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines, recently announced Ontario is investing $250,000 through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) in the Kenora SportsPlex.
The Kenora SportsPlex will be expanded to increase the second-floor viewing area, improve accessibility and maximize use of the playing field area as a regulation-sized field of play. This will allow the centre to attract regional sports tournaments and accommodate more spectators.

It’s shaping up to be a very happy new year for e-scooter jockeys in Ontario. The first day of 2020 kicks off a five-year pilot project to test the viability in Ontario of electric kick-scooters, also known as e-scooters — not the sit-down Vespa-style ones, but the stand-up variety.
We’re in for in for a wild, potentially dangerous and undeniably fun ride, but don’t think that these overhyped scooters are a cure for our traffic ailments.
