We've begun the big move from 555 Burnhamthorpe Road, our home since 2010, to our new office at 320 North Queen Street.
Please pardon the mess and the downtime over the next few days as we get ourselves cleaned up and organized.
In addition, our offices will be closed on Monday for the Family Day long weekend — we'll be up and running for Tuesday, Feb. 21.

A school board in southwestern Ontario says it has cancelled a handful of school trips to the United States due to "safety and equity" concerns.
Greater Essex County District School Board superintendent Clara Howitt said that the decision has affected trips to the U.S. that were scheduled for February, as well as a trip to Washington, D.C. in April.

TICO wishes to advise all stakeholders that the Ministry of Government and Consumer services has released its Report summarizing the findings from the stakeholder consultations in the first phase of the review. The report also outlines preliminary options for potential changes to the Travel Industry Act which have emerged as a result of these discussions. With the release of this summary report, phase 1 of the review is complete.

Still reeling from Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne's decision to block his plan to toll the city's two main expressways, Mayor John Tory wants the province to cough up money to help Toronto maintain the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway.
When Wynne reversed herself and quashed his plans, offering an increased share of the gas tax to all Ontario cities instead, a wounded Mr. Tory countered that Queen's Park must now give Toronto more money for its massive transit system and crumbling public housing.

The number of home-based agents is on the rise in Canada, and so as it turns out is the number of Canadian travellers using a home-based agent to book their vacation.
The consumer edition of the latest Ultimate Travel Survey shows that 31 per cent of Canadian consumers have booked a trip using a home-based agent. That's up from 24 per cent in 2013. Nearly 69 per cent admitted to never having booked with them before, which at first glance may seem discouraging, but to some industry insiders it's actually quite hopeful.

A recent fatal accident on Highway 417 near Carling Avenue was, according to the OPP, caused by a "dual wheel assembly set" that detached from a westbound transport trailer. The wheels jumped the concrete median and crashed into an eastbound van, killing the driver.
In 2016, there were 135 reported cases of similar wheel separations in Ontario. According to the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada, the number of "wheel offs" reported in Ontario is on the rise.

Bombardier has turned up the heat in its fight with Metrolinx by asking an Ontario court to impose an injunction in response to the provincial transportation agency's notice to terminate a contract for light rail vehicles in Toronto.
The transportation manufacturer's railway division says its 49-page application to the Ontario Superior Court is designed to encourage Metrolinx to resume good-faith discussions as required in its contract.
