A strike by school bus drivers with Campeau Bus Lines will be averted if they vote in favour of a new tentative agreement reached on Thursday.
According to Unifor, a “fair settlement” was reached for the more-than 200 school-bus drivers with Unifor Local 4268 which serve throughout central Ontario.
The key issue was compensation for all hours worked.

The biennial Ontario 55+ Summer Games is coming to Peterborough from August 11 to 13, 2020.
The Ontario government selected the City of Peterborough to host the 2020 games, with support from the County of Peterborough, Fleming College, Trent University, and Peterborough and the Kawarthas Economic Development. All five are members of the organizing committee for the games.

A 40-year old conviction kept Bev Camp from entering the United States for a trip to Florida.
Camp was refused crossing at the Windsor-Detroit border. He had to cancel his Feb. 9 trip, thanks to a pot possession conviction from 1976.
One Windsor lawyer tells us that's a common occurrence — and isn't likely to change in the near future.
"It's an unfortunate set of circumstances, but it's too common," said immigration lawyer Eddie Kadri. "There are no relief mechanisms like we have here in Canada."

In the next five years, more than 800 new hybrid buses will be on Montreal's streets.
The goal of the nearly $1 billion order for 830 new buses with diesel engines and electric propulsion systems is to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the Société de transport de Montréal's dirty diesel buses. By the time they arrive in 2024, hybrid buses will make up roughly half of an enlarged STM fleet of 2,100 buses.
