The Ministry of Transportation is taking important steps to provide flexibility to intercommunity bus service providers to expedite adjustments to their services in response to a shift in customer demand as a result of the COVID-19 emergency.
While providing additional flexibility to service providers, Ontario is committed to ensuring that critical services like access to intercommunity transportation remains available across the province and that these measures do not support discontinuation of any service routes which people rely on.

As part of the province's enhanced measures, the Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and ServiceOntario, is extending the validity period of driving products, services and health cards. These changes reduce the need for in-person visits to ServiceOntario, International Registration Plan offices and DriveTest centres during the COVID-19 outbreak, helping to promote social distancing and contain the spread of the virus.

Survey results show support for a 110 kilometre-per-hour two-year pilot project on 400-series highways in Ontario, the provincial government says.
