Niagara Falls Bridge Commission announces bridge toll increase

The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC) has announced toll price changes effective May 1, 2016. NFBC says the increase is due an average exchange rate of $1.3732 for the period of January 2016 - March 2016. The rates have moved the 2-axle bus rate to $14.00 (US $10.25) and the 3-axle bus rate to $18.75 (US $ 13.75).

The TTC and Metrolinx will finally sit down to a historic joint board meeting at the end of the month — a practice the chair of the TTC says should be at least an annual event.
The two transit agencies will meet in the Metrolinx board office at Union Station. The agenda is still being decided. It will be posted before the meeting, which will be open to the public.

Ontario's transportation minister is cracking down on Metrolinx, ordering a sweeping review of the troubled transit agency.
The Toronto Sun has learned Steven Del Duca informed Metrolinx chairman Rob Prichard of the probe, writing that he wants to improve "oversight and accountability" of the agency.

The Manitoulin Expositor
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) announced it has reached a tentative agreement with DeAngelo Brothers Services (DBi) to continue its road maintenance contract (which includes Manitoulin) until at least the fall of 2017, this following the November announcement that DBi would cease to hold the contract that was due to expire in 2023.
It was reported that, in 2014, DBi had been fined hundreds of thousands of dollars by the MTO for failing to meets its contractual obligations with the province.
