TIAC seeks Canadian quarantine program replacement and vaccine passports
Travel Pulse
Canada’s quarantine plan is outdated and needs to be replaced with contact tracing and rapid testing, says the head of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.
Speaking on a Zoom call last Friday with Destination Canada, TIAC president and CEO Beth Potter said there are better ways to handle the pandemic than Canada’s current plan, which requires a 14-day quarantine for those coming into the country and an expensive hotel stay of up to three days for anyone arriving by air.

BY ANY OTHER NAME: Vaccination passports may be on the way, but will Canadians be eligible
Travel Industry Today
"Vaccination Passports" — loaded words these days. Viewed by some as a threat to “freedoms” by others as the arrival of freedom to travel. Much of the chatter is fraught with distortion, misconception and wishful thinking. Many experts in the field agree that some of the controversy is caused by the name itself — the document in question is in fact a health certificate — not much different than existing health certificates that prove one has had the required shots before travelling to certain countries. What to expect at hotels as travel returns
Condé Nast Traveler
The good news is that summer 2021 is on track to feel very different from summer 2020. If the vaccine roll out continues to be successful, Americans should be safe to travel and gather with certain precautions. With this in mind, hotels across the country are gearing up for what is expected to be a phenomenally busy season.
