A new comprehensive review of the auto insurance industry in this province has found that while Ontario's roads are among the safest in North America, Ontario drivers pay the highest premiums in the country.
The report, written by former Workplace Safety and Insurance Board CEO David Marshall, found that Ontario drivers pay an average insurance premium of $1,458 per vehicle, which adds up to $10 billion a year.

Bombardier Transportation recently scored a procedural victory against an Ontario transit agency when a judge ruled that Metrolinx can't cancel a $770 million contract without first going through a dispute resolution process.
Glenn Hainey, of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, rejected Metrolinx's argument that an arbitration process spelled out in the contract doesn't apply to its right to terminate the agreement for material default.

International Bridge Administration has announced that one-way traffic crossings of the International Bridge at Sault Ste. Marie totalled 101,945 for the month of March 2017. This represents a decrease of 4.8 per cent, a difference of 5,096 crossings, as compared to March 2016. However, bridge revenue for the first quarter of 2017 was up 3.9 per cent as compared to last year. Commercial crossing fares represented 46.6 per cent of the total earned toll revenue of $1.4 million.

It seems like every other month, a new agri-tourism destination opens in Norfolk. What's missing, according to a pair of local entrepreneurs, is a way for tourists and residents to visit the county's breweries, wineries and local eateries in style while learning about Ontario's Garden.
Susan Judd and Amanda Dooney aim to fill that tourism gap with Ride the Bine, a tour company they're launching next month.
Describing Ride the Bine as "Norfolk County's first beer, wine and cider tour company," Dooney and Judd have plotted a pair of routes that take guests (maximum 11 per tour) on a four-hour bus trip.
