Parliament Center Block in Ottawa is under construction for the next 8-12 years, and the House of Commons (and their tours) have been moved to our West Block, and our Senate (and their tours) have been moved to the old government conference Center, also the original train station in Ottawa (and their tours are done there also). These are both beautiful buildings and wonderful tours. They have developed a new booking system for the public and for groups and Tour Operators (a specific login for Tour Operators to book for their clients), and the overall capacity for Tours for the year have gone up! However, the buildings only have tours on days when either the House or the Senate, respectively, are not sitting, and for the Month of May and June, the number of days that they are sitting is the highest — and that has traditionally been when our Students groups from Ontario and Quebec travel to Ottawa the most. Ottawa Tourism and a couple of its members have put together a new program to assist our Student Tour Operators to offer to their school trips for this year.
