A major tourism conference is underway at the BMO Centre in Stampede Park and the hundreds of delegates from overseas are getting a firsthand glimpse of what Calgary and Canada have to offer.
Rendez-vous Canada (RVC), a networking event that connects international buyers with representatives of the Canadian tourism industry, has brought approximately 1,800 registered delegates, representing 29 countries, to Calgary.

A group of southern Ontario airports say they're banding together to ensure that the region reaches its full potential for air travel.
The Southern Ontario Airport Network, which was announced Monday, is comprised of 11 airports stretching from Windsor to Kingston. The group includes both Pearson International Airport and Region of Waterloo International Airport.

Ontario Progressive Conservative transportation critic Michael Harris is blaming partisan politics for a missed opportunity to embrace video technology to make it easier to prosecute drivers who blow by stopped school buses.
The Kitchener-Conestoga MPP said he twice attempted to get Liberals to agree to amendments that would lay legislative foundation needed to allow school bus stop-arm video to be admissible in court as standalone evidence, similar to processes used for red-light camera laws.

Known as an e-Lion, the 70-seat school bus was on display at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge during a two-day convention for the Alberta Student Transportation Advisory Council.

Southern Ontario risks losing out on a $15 billion stimulus to the province's gross domestic product if airports fail to co-ordinate their development to take advantage of a massive increase in airline-passenger traffic by mid-century.
