'Critical point': Ontario tourism wants plan from new government

New data from the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) suggests that almost half of all tourism businesses remain very concerned about the future of the tourism industry in the province and that despite many restrictions being lifted, continue to face significant economic pressures and labour challenges to ensure recovery.

The Ottawa VIP Program offers tour operators $50 per room night at a qualifying hotel, when accompanied by a paid admission to an eligible attraction. There are no minimum room night requirements. Hotels and attractions must be paid by the tour operator and proof of payment is required for the funding. Travel must be completed by October 15, 2022.
