While all major provincial parties share similarities in terms of proposals to improve public transportation, especially when it comes to GO Transit, there is one key difference this election: Highway 413 and other large-scale highway projects.

Ontario NDP promise to remove tolls for truckers on Highway 407

Ontario’s New Democrats say they won’t make truckers pony up if they drive on a private toll highway in the Toronto area, if the party is elected in June.
The New Democrats say the move would help relieve traffic on the provincially owned 400-series highways in southern Ontario by diverting truck traffic to the 407 Express Toll Route.

Ontario PC leader Doug Ford calls widening Highway 403 a 'fantastic' idea

Progressive Conservative leader Doug Ford says widening Hwy. 403 and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway to alleviate persistent traffic congestion is a “fantastic idea” that will be examined after the June 2 election.
Appearing at Heddle Shipyards in Hamilton on May 18, Ford trumpeted his party’s eagerness to construct various infrastructure projects, including Hwy. 413, and hospitals, in contrast to the Liberals and NDP.
